Great news: Amber, the Wordpress theme behind this blog got accepted on Wordpress Themes Directory. Right now you can download it, install it and tweak it.

It gets even better: Amber was downloaded 22 times already, in less than 24 hours.

Among others there would be Denis Florent. When I first met him I couldn’t believe the guy can manage a big radio station and at the same time know how Typo 3 works and what is RSS or AJAX.

As I said earlier this week I have been planning the release of an Wordpress theme.

Some of it’s features are:

1. An widget-ready sidebar
2. “Featured post” feature (just create an “Featured” category and add posts there)
3. Advertising space: 728×90 in the upper area and a 300×250 space in the right hand area
4. Clean HTML code, ready for search engine indexing
5. Works with Wordpress 2.6.2

Blog theme release

I thought I could contribute with something to a better world. I tried eradicating hunger, stopping wars and solving some other global issues. As it didn’t work out very well until now I figured I could very well release this blog’s theme.

The name will be “Amber” and will be a widgetized wordpress theme complete with some useful things like pages, search, categories and archive templates. It will also have a featured blog post (like the one you see here), advertising space (for all you out there looking to either make a buck or two or shout out something to your readers) and others.

The color scheme will be slightly modified for a better contrast and will have a tiny “offered by” text at the bottom.

Kontain, the previous Propod, launched September the 19th as an platform for blogging, video and photo sharing.

You can preview the technology on Fantasy Interactive’s media blog. I signed up for an beta preview and hope to get a better review soon enough.

Until than I am still reserved regarding a Flash based blogging tool. The main reason is the flash text indexing problem we still know many search engine have.

Last but not least: I love the product presentation on Kontain.com.
